Willow the Highly Sensitive Pup

Life can be hard when you’re super sensitive, but it can also be a SUPERPOWER!

Willow The Highly Sensitive Pup is about a sweet but nervous rescue dog. Her owners are concerned because she does not behave like a “regular” puppy; that is because Willow is an H.S.P.: a Highly Sensitive Pup. H.S.P. is a psychological term that stands for Highly Sensitive Person. H.S.P.s are born with a cluster of personality traits that give them common characteristics. They make up about 20% of the world’s population. The intention of this book is to help “sensitive” young children, and maybe some adults, to not feel like outsiders in a culture that encourages and rewards extroversion and boisterousness. In Willow, these character traits are celebrated and seen as superpowers, not something negative or “wrong”. Willow the Highly Sensitive Pup will educate both children and adults alike about what it means to be an H.S.P., and reduce the stigma of being sensitive.
